From April 2nd to April 4th for the first time in its history DSS took part in the international exhibition and conference PM ASIA 2007', held in Shanghai, China, which focused on the cutting-edge technologies used in the powder metal industry. Speaking on behalf of DSS at the exhibition were K.A. Il'chenko, Vice Chairman of the Board for Marketing and Sales, P.M. Gerashchenko, Head of the Technical Inspection Department and O.F.Bogoslav, Lead Engineer of the Sales Department.

According to K.Il'chenko, the main purpose of the trip was to establish new contacts in the international market, particularly the South-East Asia powder metal market, considered the most dynamic. Every year about 50 new companies open in China while the existing 700 companies in this sector are increasing sales.

World leaders of the powder metal industry such as Crucible Materials Corporation', USA, Carpenter Powder Products', USA and Erasteel Kloster AB', France show-cased their products at PM Asia 2007'. Exhibition stands of DSS and the company itself attracted much interest from other exhibitors as well as representatives of diverse companies from China, Taiwan, USA, Russia, Germany, France, Sweden, India, Iran and a number of other countries.

At the conference world-renowned experts of the powder metal industry made presentations. In addition, a forum was held covering business development in Asia and possible partnerships with Chinese businesses. Pavel Gerashchenko pointed out that the extended program of PM Asia 2007' created the opportunity for a comprehensive study of the global market and of technical advancements in the area of high-alloy tool and high-speed steels, manufactured using powder metal technologies'.

This trip has opened for us new opportunities for sale of our products in the South-East Asia market. In the immediate future we will have our own sales representative in Shanghai to work with existing and new customers and we will soon be opening an office for DSS representation in China', commented K. Il'chenko.
